Does anyone know how to drive?????
Posted by Dave in Uncategorized, tags: bad drivers, box junctions, indicators, zebra crossingsGot to ask cos me and Yvonne have both failed our tests….. But yet
1. We know how to indicate! We have started to cross the roads at junctions with the following philosophy: “If they aren’t indicating…. we can but assume they are going straight on regardless of if straight on is a viable option or not”. You need to signal to indicate a change of direction. So why don’t you?
2. We know what a box junction is! A box junction is there so anyone whose exit lane is clear can proceed down their lane. You do not enter a box junction unless your exit lane is clear! These days however most drivers seem to think a box junction is there for them to block until such a time their exit lane is clear!
3. We know what kind of vehicle we are driving. Some drivers seem to be convinced their vehicles are buses or taxis. They aren’t! Neither is a car a bicycle. Bicycles have two wheels. Cars have…………
4. We know what a Zebra crossing is for. A zebra crossing is there for pedestrians to cross the road. Once a pedestrian puts their foot on the crossing all traffic is to stop until the pedestrian has cleared the crossing. Course no one seems to know that
So again I ask does anyone in this country know how to drive?? I don’t think so!
Personally I think roads would be a lot safer in this country were people forced to retake their driving test every 5 years or so. The amount of shear idiots this simple act would clear off the road is unbelievable.
To anyone reading this who doesn’t understand why the things I have listed in this entry are wrong…. I’d suggest you get down the post office and invest in the highway code. It makes excellent reading!
