When we moved into our current house, the gas was supplied by npower (unfortunately). What should have been a simple matter to set up a gas account on prepayment was made infinitely more complicated by them and resulted in us being without heating or hot water when we moved into our home until after a bank holiday weekend. We immediately arranged to switch suppliers and this completed late September ish last year.

Since then the only major hassle we have of them is their sales people in Preston town centre chasing us down friargate desperately trying to get us to sign up. Until today!

Today I receive a bill for £710.48 for the last 3 months worth of gas. There are of course two reason why that bill is clearly wrong (besides the fact it’s huge)

  1. We left them in September so why are they billing people that aren’t even their customers. I know the credit crunch is affecting businesses profits but that doesn’t given them the right to try and bill people who aren’t their customers for a service they aren’t even providing
  2. As prepayment customers, it is of course impossible to run up a bill unless the meter is incorrectly set up which is the suppliers fault. Of course as we are prepayment customers of British Gas (besides when Scottish Power decide to slam us of course) that is academic

Fancy a takeaway? Fancy saving £2? Get over to just eat where you can order from loads of takeaways local to you online.

Use code “getitnow2″ at the checkout and they will knock £2 off your bill. You need to pay by credit or debit card rather than cash on delivery to use the code and some restaurants add a handling fee for this normally in the 50p region but even so you are still saving!

So go on get a kebab….. or a pizza….. or a burger….. or chicken, a curry or a chinese. Or why not get the lot! Or is that just greedy?
