Digital Services (UK) Ltd and Phones 4u Ltd plus probably many other firm names, belong to the Lifestyle Group. http://www.lifestylegroup.co.uk/content/ ... The Lifestyle Group seem to be the insurance company for Barclays and other banks, and after reading this up on Google, I have found a number of people complaining about the insurance taken out on their mobiles, which through the banks, is also a scam.

A man from this company rang this evening and told me he was ringing from SKY about extending the warranty as mine was up for renewal - he in fact asked for my husband whose bill the name is in - I said we did not have this type of cover and he told me I did - and I should renew - I then asked where he had got my information from and he stated SKY - I then told him I was not interested and he promptly put the phone down. Unfortunately you can see how people get intimidated - he better not call back - I will also be contacting Watchdog.

Hi Gareth,

Not sure how much I can help but I'll try. You say your mother is being threatened? In what way? Did she actually take a warranty with these guys?

As you'll see from my post all that's happened to me is I received unsolicited marketing from them. Thankfully I'm a bit more knowledgeable than some and knew to just bin it and make sure they never bothered me again

When I complained to the ASA they stated they were aware there were still issues with this company but they were being investigated by trading standards and they suggested I contact them. I have to admit I never got round to that but I've also never had any further junk from them.

Depending on the nature of your mother's problems with them it may be worth contacting trading standards yourself

Hope this helps

Mr Thorp.

My name is Gareth Wood, and I came upon your site through researching the company known as digital satellite warranty cover ltd, as my mother is currently having problems with this company.

First, thanks for listing links to the ASA adjudications, its been a great help. However we have now been threatened by this company, and consequently are in touch with the office of fair trading as to our options. I'm writing to you to ask if we can enlist your aid in exposing this company for what they are.

My mother is writing to watchdog, and therefore I'm hoping that you might contact them as well to reinforce our case.

Thank you
Gareth Wood.
