Stupid comments galore last year so please read the following frequently asked questions which should help people avoid looking stupid.

Rare Stickers/Pieces? What’s this all about?

I continue to be amazed at just how many people don’t understand how this promotion works and think that because they have a Park Lane sticker they are halfway to winning £100k. The amount of people who still say “I’ve got Park Lane. Who has Mayfair and wants to split the prize with me?” is ridiculous. Which is why you will be invariably ridiculed if you do that.

For each collect to win set McDonalds select one piece to be the rare piece and print as many of those pieces as there are collect to win prizes for that tier. They then print millions, if not billions of the rest!

You only have to think about this briefly to realise just how rare the rare pieces are. There are 1,521,359 rare collect to win stickers this year 1,500,000 of which only win you a free medium meal with the remaining 21,359 winning you something that might actually be worth winning. Hundreds of thousands of stickers will be distributed across the country each and every day. Do the maths!

I have Park Lane, who has Mayfair and wants to split the prize with me?

Seriously just don’t!

I have Mayfair, who has Park Lane and wants to split the prize with me?

Mayfair is the winning sticker! Park Lanes are distributed in their tens of thousands each and every day to try and trick people into thinking they are close to winning when they really aren’t. If indeed you have the Mayfair sticker please just visit McDonalds a couple more times and you are bound to pick up the Park Lane you need

Why are there more prizes for a tier than you’ve listed rare stickers for?

The rare stickers listed are for the collect to win prizes which require you to collect all 2/3/4 stickers in a set in order to win with one of those stickers being rare. Some prize tiers also have instant win prizes which are not included in the totals

What items have stickers on them?

There was a large amount of confusion about this previously which seemed to stem from some stores incorrectly placing products in containers with stickers on. The following is an official list of products which should carry stickers taken from the McDonalds Website

  • Large Fries – 3 Stickers

Well done! Your server likely made a mistake! You should be very pleased! Enjoy your extra bowl of porridge that you won due to your server’s error.

How do I claim a prize?

Your winning instant win or rare collect to win stickers should have a web address to go to in order to start the claim process. Usually the web address is For food prizes hand the sticker(s) to your server when ordering your food prize or follow the instructions if ordering using a self service kiosk. For all other prizes see your sticker or the McDonalds Website

How can this site cope with the traffic this promotion causes when others struggle?

That’s a good question. One other popular site that lists the rare stickers was down the bulk of the opening day in 2015 whereas this site stayed up. This site utilises technology to balance traffic load and cope better with spikes in traffic. This site was significantly upgraded in Autumn 2014 to cope with such spikes due to traffic it was receiving at another busy time of the year for the site when several thousand people were trying to view the site at the same time. My site can cope with tens of thousands of people attempting to visit it simultaneously.

I care about my visitors more than a lot of websites and building a site that will cope with the traffic demands placed on it is important to me.

Is this site connected with McDonalds in any way, shape or form?

No it isn’t

    1. That would be down to the individual server but a cup of water isn’t on the official list of what should carry stickers and a standard non promotional cup *should* be used for this but might not always be

  1. So I work in maccies, and I take it that these totals are per store, because 4 mayfairs in the whole country and the chance that these are thrown away in the red bin that food waste goes into. I doubt it would be the whole country. I actually had a large argument with my manager about this and thinking about it logically it has to be per store.

I’m not really sure though. Nor do I really care, if i did get mayfair I wouldn’t even be able to claim it.

    1. The totals are across the whole country. As you say there is a chance that some of the 4 mayfair stickers will get thrown away by mistake and this will reduce the amount that McDonalds have to pay out in prizes each year. You’re no doubt aware of how many stickers your store distributes each and every day and so have an idea how hard it therefore is to win anything decent from this promotion.

In the highly unlikely even you came across a Mayfair sticker my suggestion would be to pass it on to a friend to claim on your behalf

    2. That’s the reason why that person is a manager and you’re not…

  2. You work in mcdonalds and you think it’s per store? I can’t believe how you think that. There’s over a thousand mcdonalds in the UK…that would mean half a billion in prize money given away. Plus, if there ‘had’ to be 4 per store, someone would have to know which tickets contain it, so it could easily be fixed.

  3. It looks like a lot of the “prizes” this year are 20% off vouchers to dodgy online retailers whose prices start at 50% over the going rate. Just when you think they couldn’t cheap out any more…

  4. Great job Dave! You’re doing so many people a favour with this site. You’re one of the good ones!

  5. Did anyone win the £100K then?
How do we know those Mayfair vouchers are even circulated?

  6. Yep, I won the £100k. Well £50k actually, because I had Park Lane and needed Mayfair, which Dave had, so we split the winnings!

  7. Hi Dave-
Checked your blog and surprised to see no mention of the Mcdonald’s Monopoly promotion which starts on the 21st March 2018. There are a few minor differences to last year’s version, but the main details are the same.

This site uses cookies. As does pretty much every single other website on the internet because without cookies the Internet doesn't work!. Sadly the EU have passed a stupid law which requires me to harass new visitors with a stupid pop up asking if it is ok for the site to use something which makes much of the internet work! The cookie settings on this website are set to "allow cookies" to give you the best browsing experience possible and to make this site work properly! If you continue to use this website without changing your cookie settings or you click "Accept" below then you are consenting to this. Once you have accepted cookies you should not see this pop up again for 9999 months. Unless you use a different browser. Or a different device. See it's a stupid law isn't it! Normally I would advocate adding pop ups like this one into an ad blocker or some other kind of content blocker but please don't do that. This site is expensive to run and I need the ad revenue!
