Once again this blog has had a bit of a makeover. The main reason for this is to switch over to a theme that is fully compatable with wordpress 2.7 which has just been released (though I’ve been testing it for the last couple of months whilst it’s been in beta)
Just updated my beta version of wordpress 2.7 and rather than saying beta 3, it is quoting itself as being “almost-rc”
Which is a little odd
Been having a play with the beta of wordpress 2.7 and the skins that come with it and have changed the site layout to one of the new bundled skins. Most notably there are now two columns of sidebars which has allowed me to tidy up the sidebar a bit and incorporate some more advertising (sorry I know ads are bad but what you gonna do)
A lot of the new functions in wordpress 2.7 are things I had plugins to do anyway (and mostly backoffice based such as auto updates) but still nice to have them out of the box so to speak. The new look back office is also very nice!
This new release will probably seal my conversion from the old blog system (b2evolution) over to wordpress. Of course all I need now is someone to come up with an easy way to transfer my posts over to this system. There are some ways but they are longwinded, convoluted or don’t transfer everything correctly.
