Society and the economy is on its knees and is it any wonder?
We’ve just witnessed a group of 5 children between 6 and 10 years old bashing away at the fence across the road from us with baseball bats, metal poles and various other items totally wrecking it and knocking it over. Some over them were even going for each other with their mock weapons! Not only criminal damage but they were also trespassing on the property as it’s not their house (we’ve had to chase them from our property a few times as they seem to think they are free to go in whoever’s garden they like)
Fine examples of our future generations who seem to be being dragged up rather than brought up. I’ll tell you now if Stuart or Alex even attempt similar behaviour ever they’ll be grounded until retirement!
Perhaps the best bit is that Yvonne telephoned the police whilst the kids were doing it. Have they turned up yet? Have they balls!

Following on from aim one this month I thought I should explain the aim.
On Wednesday, we took Stuart and Alex to Blackpool Sea Life Centre as we had a voucher that meant it only cost £12.50 for all four of us to get in. We then spent all of about half an hour in there and were pretty none impressed.
Probably the best memory I had was of the tunnel where the sharks swim around you which when I was a young boy was fantastic. However now, the tunnel seemed much shorter and the sharks are not as impressive.
Perhaps it’s best not to revisit places you went to in your youth as they are never as good now as they were back then. We keep talking about going on holiday to Butlins with the kids. Might not be such a good idea……

As a parent, obviously I want Stuart to turn out to be a good, well behaved boy and not a git like some kids these days.
There seems to be something fundamentally wrong with kids today. So lets cover the major issues
Vandalism
No sooner is a new bus shelter erected around here then it’s windows get put through by some kids. At one point travelling on the bus we actually passed 4 consecutive bus stops that had been vandalised.
Now I’m sorry but what does this achieve? Does it make you look big and hard in front of your mates? Believe me it wont do when your mates don’t get the new MP3 player or games console because their parent’s council tax bills have gone up. Saying that with the youth of today that isn’t much of a problem cos they’ll probably just nick them.
Drinking
Yes I drank when I was young. Yes I drank underage. I however did not do it in street corners or in bus shelters shortly before I vandalised them. I did it at home in a controlled environment, something I’ll be making sure Stuart does as well
Sex
I shudder to think what adding the above word is going to do to the search hits to this site however I shudder even more at the apparent lack of sex education kids these days seem to have with many having sex by time they are 13 and even getting pregnant.
Given the average age of people first having sex seems to be decreasing (despite the fact that some of my mates left it very late) I’m expecting Stuart to make me a Grandad by the time I’m 35
Smoking
This is something that did go on with children when I was at school too. However it seems to be getting out of control. I for one welcome both the smoking ban, plus the plan to raise the age for buying cigarettes to 18 this October.
Hopefully the government will take further steps to protect the health of people in general as well as our youth and ban these cancerous death sticks for good
